Customers Required

An ongoing project: Photographing Manchester, Greater Manchester and Salford. For this collection I'm using film; Tmax, Ultramax, and Portra with a Leica M3, M6 ttl, iiif, iiig and Hasselblad 503CW kit; (note: the first 22 images are from my Leica M8).

Upstairs in Jaffa, the warm sun shines through the window onto the Formica. I'm finishing off my mint tea and mezza, while watching the buses precess down the Curry Mile. No companion today, just memories of meals shared here, in comfort with a dear friend. I put my notebook away, and make my way down to the street; I have time ...

It's a pleasant day to walk through the city. Everywhere, the archaeology of the present meets my mind's eye, prompting and suggesting ways of recycling and repurposing the reflected light, through my camera's lens and onto the film; rendering and transforming the familiar, into new abstracted, ethnographic, surreal artefacts.
