A collection of acrylic paintings - on transparent acrylic sheet.

I had been reading online that Polaroid photography was about to become extinct and that people were trying to save it.

It has become another one of those cool analogue leftovers like reel to reel tape recorders or vinyl record players.

Like other people I feel attracted to the prints and their instant quality. They become cherished possessions and keepsakes.

Often unselfconscious, with likably distorted colours and tones, they can be very evocative, intimate and personal.

The information they convey makes me think of the random but sometimes telling results of a word association game.

So, when I needed to produce these paintings quickly for a show, I very deliberately drew the first images that came to mind:

Polaroids + snaps = summer ∴ being on holiday, childhood, outside, going home.
